My passion for farming began as a young child, as I worked on a truck farm near my hometown of Harrison, Ohio. I moved to Nelsonville to attend Hocking College after high school and never left Athens County. I met my future wife, Terry, at Hocking College and we soon began a life together.
We have owned and operated Vest Berries since the early 1980’s. Our two awesome daughters, Lindsey and Nicki, grew up picking berries on the farm. While maintaining the farm, I also had a career as a graphic designer at McBee from 1978-2006. After McBee relocated, I rekindled my love for farming.
Over the years, Vest Berries has grown to include much more than just our staple crop, strawberries. And with the help of high tunnel and drip irrigation technologies, the growth season of the produce is drastically increased. I utilize best agricultural practices and follow suggested handling procedures.
The newest additions to the Vest family are grandsons Ben, Cameron & Carter
and granddaughter Sydney!
They love to visit grandpa at the market, run around the farm & take rides on the tractor!
